CCLEANER Is a utility program used to clean potentially unwanted files and invalid Windows Registry entries from a computer.Earlier it was known as crap cleaner. A public beta version for the Mac OS X has been released.
Functions of c cleaner
1. CCleaner supports the cleaning of temporary or potentially unwanted files left by certain programs, including Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome, Windows Media Player, eMule, Google Toolbar, Netscape, Microsoft Office, Nero, Adobe Acrobat, WinRAR, WinAce, WinZip
2. Along with browsing history, cookies, Recycle bin, memory dumps, file fragments, log files, system caches, application data, autocomplete form history, and various other data The program also includes a registry cleaner to locate and correct problems in the Windows registry, such as missing references to shared DLLs, unused registration entries for file extensions, and missing references application paths.
3. As of v2.27, CCleaner can wipe the MFT free space of a drive, or the entire drive itself.
4. CCleaner can be employed to uninstall programs.
5. CCleaner allows the alteration of start-up programs, similar to the Microsoft Windows MSConfig utility. Users can disable start-up programs. As of version 2.19.901, CCleaner also allows users to delete system restore points.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
CCleaner will run on any PC running Microsoft Windows 2000 or later. If you're running one of the following operating systems, you're fine to run CCleaner:
• Windows 7 (all editions, including 64-bit)
• Windows Vista (all editions, including 64-bit)
• Windows XP (Home, Professional, Media Center, Tablet Edition, 64-bit)
• Windows 2003 and 2008 Server (all editions).
• Windows 2000
Since CCleaner is a small, quick program there are no minimum memory or hard drive requirements.
Note 1: For Windows NT4, ME and 98, we recommend CCleaner Version 2.
Note 2: CCleaner does not currently support Mac OS or Linux.
